Crafting impactful narratives for a new kind of creative firm

A private equity-backed amalgam of legendary interior, experiential and motion design studios, Journey didn’t lack for chops. It did, however, lack strategic narratives that would convey its collective expertise. Working closely with the firm’s strategy, technology and sales teams, I produced tonal guidance, site copy and long-form pieces that would prove Journey was greater than the sum of its remarkable parts.

Pushing the tone

Journey presented a tonal tabula rasa. The voice I staked out for the brand balances the wild, creative fervor of its studios with the imperative to fuel rapid, leapfrogging growth.

The story of the work

Journey’s portfolio reads like a futurist’s dream, but case studies lacked structural discipline, tonal distinction or a sense of the work’s impact. I created a narrative template and reimagined dozens of cases to capture and convey the sheer audacity of the firm’s work.

Selling the differentiator

Journey practices multidimensional design, or MDX. To build equity in the concept, I collaborated closely with the C-suite on earned and owned media that positioned MDX as a next-gen design approach, and Journey as its greatest practitioner.
